Steward (Dishwasher)

Position Summary: The Steward is responsible for general cleanliness of kitchen, dish-area,
equipment and storage (including fridges, mop storage etc.) and other specified areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Dishwasher is prepared for use – screens and water nozzles are clean, water fresh, detergent, rinse in place
2. Wash all glasses, mugs, plates, pans and platters, pots, cutlery as required.
3. Ensure chemical supplies are well stocked.
4. Keep all garbage and recycling bins clean, removes garbage to outdoor bins.
5. Keep all kitchen equipment clean as soon as cooks are finished using them.
6. Set-up pot washing sinks.
7. Keep floor swept, mopped and clean on a regular basis throughout shift.
8. Collect rags from laundry as required.
9. Keep entire dishwashing area clean.
10. Keep cutleries soaking pans fresh.
11. Clean water in dishwasher between meal periods.
12. Always allow dining room staff sufficient counter space to drop dishes off.
13. Moves China, Glass, Silver and Utensils between kitchens
14. All other duties as assigned and/or as deemed necessary.
15. Read and abide by all Employee Handbook standards.

• High school diploma preferred • Cleaning experience preferred • Ability to communicate effectively and work with minimal supervision. • Considerable walking and standing throughout the day. • Work is of a physical nature, therefore must physically fit and able to bend, kneel, lift, stretch, reach, push, pull, walk, stand, and move around as necessary in their performance of daily duties.
